Think twice before tossing that old cell phone or MP3 player ? Best Buy will gladly take it.
The electronics retailer is testing a free recycling program at Best Buy stores in the Baltimore area that will help keep old televisions, computers and other gadgets from piling up in landfills across the country.
Under the test, Best Buy will collect a wide variety of electronic waste at no charge, even if the store didn?t originally sell the merchandise.
Best Buy stores in Baltimore, Towson, White Marsh, Annapolis, Columbia, Laurel, Glen Burnie, Bel Air, Arundel Mills and Owings Mills will participate, among others. Best Buy will allow consumers to bring in two items per day per household for recycling at no charge.
Items that can be recycled range from televisions and monitors up to 32 inches, to phones, computers and cameras.
