Trooper in running for ?America?s Most Wanted? All-Star

The Maryland State Police urges residents to vote for Trooper 1st Class Eric Workman, of the Westminster barracks, for the “America?s Most Wanted” All-Star Award.

In December, Workman was shot and seriously injured while serving an arrest warrant for an armed felon in Baltimore County who was wanted in a foiled kidnapping and armed robbery in Eldersburg.

It was initially believed Workman would not survive the gunshot wound to his arm and upper torso, but he returned to duty last month. On his first day back, Workman was involved in the execution of a “high-risk” search warrant and arrest of an armed robber, according to state police.

In 1998, Workman, while standing outside his patrol vehicle, was struck by a passing vehicle and thrown 60 feet.

State police ask that residents log on to the “America?s Most Wanted” Web site at www.amw.com to vote for Workman.

The finalist will be profiled on the “America?s Most Wanted” television show, receive prizes and win a trip to the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series All-Star Challenge in May.
