1. The single biggest concern other teams had about Albert Haynesworth regarded his durability. The Redskins did not share those concerns. But does it bother anyone that Haynesworth already needs injections in his left knee? We need to know more about this and I’m guessing Jim Zorn will be pressed more on this following today’s practice. He called it normal Sunday.

2. This mostly went unnoticed, but Brian Orakpo played one snap at defensive tackle in practice Sunday afternoon. Haynesworth moved to right end. This just gives Washington more versatility, something they have not had in the line in a long, long time. Orakpo should also be good on stunts to the inside, using his quickness. Imagine him coming behind Haynesworth.

3. One thing the Redskins can do more of with Derrick Dockery this year is run screens to the left. Pete Kendall’s knees prevented them from running certain plays that required him to move in space. Dock won’t have that problem.

4. It was different to watch Hunter Smith punt the other day. Why? Because all six of his punts landed within about 5-7 yards of each other. Last year, or for the past few for that matter, one punt would go 60 yards and the next would go 30. Smith will not be a Pro Bowler, but his consistency will be welcomed by coaches.

5. When the Redskins drafted Chad Rinehart, one former scout predicted he’d be a starter by this season. Um, not quite. Rinehart still looks spotty and gets beat inside too often to be considered someone near ready for a starting job. With Randy Thomas getting older and coming off two surgeries, it’s important for the Redskins to have a capable replacement. Maybe Jeremy Bridges could be that guy. Bridges has shown in camp that he’s definitely not a tackle.
