Biden’s Delaware homecoming prompts traffic jam after schedule change

President Joe Biden’s weekend trip back home to Delaware put locals in a traffic jam, causing delays on the state’s major interstates and other roads.

WHERE’S HUNTER? BIDEN’S EMBATTLED SON AND BABY BEAU JOIN FATHER ON AIR FORCE ONE

Biden was set to leave the Washington, D.C., area for Delaware around 6:15 p.m. on Friday, but his schedule was updated in the afternoon, and he left the White House around 3 p.m. He flew out of Joint Base Andrews just before 3:30 p.m. Air Force One arrived at New Castle Airport at 3:50 p.m., prompting traffic jams all around the airport area, according to the Delaware News Journal.

Biden was traveling with his son Hunter, his daughter-in-law Melissa Cohen, and their baby, Beau. When asked how it felt to be joined by his youngest grandchild on his flight aboard Air Force One, the president said it was “really great.”

Traffic jams as a result of presidential travel are nothing out of the ordinary, although they can be an annoyance for locals.

Biden’s trip home is the fourth weekend he’s spent in Delaware since he was sworn in as president two months ago.
