Robert Griffin III got the first visit; Andrew Luck goes second. When it comes to the draft, their order could be reversed. For now, it’s the order in which they met with Redskins officials this week.

It’s common for teams to bring in players they’re interested in drafting, so this is nothing unusual. Luck already has met with Indianapolis; Griffin likely will meet with them at some point as well, though nothing had been arranged as of Tuesday night. The Colts are expected to draft Luck with the first overall pick.
Colts owner Jim Irsay tweeted Tuesday, “Met with A Luck#12 n Indy 2day for 3 hrs;it’s easy 2c why the #1 pick n this Stanford phenom has been synonymous with each other 4over 2 yrs.”
But just in case the Colts don’t select Luck, the Redskins need to be ready. So they’ve attended Luck’s pro day workout, and they’re expected to meet with him in California before the draft — just as they’ll work with Griffin a few times before the draft in Waco, Texas.
The Redskins met with Griffin on Monday night, with owner Dan Snyder and coach Mike Shanahan taking him to dinner, and again Tuesday. Luck was scheduled to arrive in town Tuesday night.
Meanwhile, the Redskins added more depth in the secondary signing cornerback Leigh Torrence and agreeing to terms with safety Madieu Williams.
Williams is a potential starter at free safety, though he started only three games for San Francisco last season. In his first seven seasons — three with Minnesota and four with Cincinnati — Williams started 83 games. He suffered a neck injury in 2008, causing him to miss the first seven games. His play was never the same thereafter. Williams turned down an offer from Atlanta to join the Redskins.
Williams was the NFL’s Walter Payton Man of the Year winner in 2010. His $2 million donation funded the Madieu Williams Center for Global Health Initiatives in 2009.
Torrence spent parts of three seasons with the Redskins, from 2006-08. After being cut during the ’08 season, he was picked up by New Orleans where he played until this past season. He has one career start.
