President Obama said his daughters would get a lesser education at a D.C. public school than at the elite private school they currently attend.
“I’ll be blunt with you. The answer is ‘no’ right now,” Obama said when asked if any D.C. Public Schools were quality enough for his daughters during a Monday morning interview with NBC’s “Today” show.
“The D.C. Public School systems are struggling,” Obama said, although “they have made some important strides over the past several years to move in the direction of reform.”
Malia, 12, and Sasha, 9, attend the Sidwell Friends School, a Quaker-affiliated K-12 school in Northwest.
