Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, was unbowed after the Supreme Court upheld Obamacare subsidies in a major victory Thursday for the White House.
“Today’s ruling failed to hold the Obama administration responsible for its reckless execution of its poorly-crafted law,” he said in a statement shortly after the ruling was released Thursday.

“We will continue to work toward real reform,” he added.
Hatch had been pushing a short-term fix if the court struck down the subsidies. The subsidies would have remained in place for about two years while Congress found a more permanent solution.
Republicans have tried in vain since Obamacare’s passage five years ago to repeal it, and all indications are the Supreme Court ruling won’t deter them.
Hatch is sponsor of the Patient CARE Act that repeals Obamacare.
