The right-leaning Judicial Crisis Network is running new ads thanking leading Republicans for their role in confirming Justice Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court.
The conservative legal group is running separate ads encouraging viewers to call and thank President Trump, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Chuck Grassley for the confirmation effort.
“For a year, Mitch McConnell was attacked,” a narrator says in the ad boosting McConnell. “First, they said he’d have to let Obama remake the Supreme Court. Then, they said he couldn’t get a conservative judge past the liberals. But now because of Mitch McConnell’s leadership, Justice Scalia’s legacy has been preserved; his seat filled by another constitutional conservative.”
The narrator continues, “And McConnell got it done with bipartisan support. Tell Mitch McConnell thank you for standing strong and putting Neil Gorsuch on the Supreme Court.”
The ads are part of a $150,000 cable and digital ad buy aimed at Washington, D.C., Kentucky, and Iowa.
