Liberals thrash Piers Morgan for debunking hysteria on Trump’s ban

Ultra-liberal Piers Morgan is receiving heat for defending Donald Trump’s immigration moratorium and criticizing liberals’ paranoia over Trump’s presidency.

Piers Morgan, a former CNN anchor, joined the Trump Train early on in the election, stating he was mocked constantly for admitting former Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton should be afraid of Trump. Morgan won the Celebrity Apprentice on Season 7 and has been a friend of Trump for over 10 years.

Morgan went on Real Time with Bill Maher to engage in a discourse over Trump’s immigration policy. While on the show, Morgan declared that the 90-day travel ban from seven Muslim-majority countries was “not a Muslim ban,” to which opponent and Australian comedian Jim Jeffries replied by flipping him off and saying, “Hitler didn’t kill Jews on the first day. He worked up to it.”

Morgan used Jeffries reaction to point out the Left’s hysteria over the “Muslim ban,” citing over 85 percent of Muslims would not be restricted from travelling to the United States under it. He also criticized the “over-the-top nonsense” in comparing Trump and his policies to those of Adolf Hitler, also saying it is “offensive.”

Jeffries is not the first to get called out by the Daily Mail editor-at-large over his exaggerated reaction to President Trump. Morgan has also called out Meryl Streep and the entirety of the Hollywood elites for virtue-signaling the American populace despite being out of touch with most of Americans’ lives. He also said Streep was becoming “the world’s most crashing Hollywood pseudo-political bore.”

His remarks on the show also ignited Twitter fights with JK Rowling, another fellow British liberal. Rowling delighted in Jeffries’ knee jerk reaction to Morgan’s facts about the immigration moratorium and called Morgan a “fact-free, amoral, bigotry apologist.” Morgan, who has a photo of Trump and him as his profile picture, replied that the Harry Potter author helped him win Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice, and made fun at the fact he was being attacked by “a comic who tells rape jokes,” in regards to Jeffries, and “an author who writes about wizards,” in regards to Rowling.

Perhaps his best reply was the one he sent to Chelsea Clinton, who showed support for Rowling during the Twitter feud. He tweeted her with the line, “You Clintons seem cocky despite the stuffing you took in November. I admire the resilience.”

Despite Piers Morgan’s support of Trump and his policies, he previously defended Barack Obama and his liberal policies. He has expressed support for stricter gun laws and has blamed mass shootings during Obama’s presidency on the right’s hysteria that Obama would take away their guns. He has also shown support for tax increases to the wealthiest Americans and has denounced the anti-gay rhetoric he says many Republican politicians have partaken in.

His support for Trump and his recent policies is one that is commonplace among many liberals who feel the party is acting dramatic and using unfounded comparisons to instill fear in Americans over Trump.
