President Trump issued a warning to Democratic governors he believes are attempting to subvert his response to the coronavirus pandemic.
On Tuesday morning, Trump shared on social media that one of his “favorite” movies is Mutiny on the Bounty, which focused on the mutiny aboard a British vessel in 1789.
“Tell the Democrat Governors that ‘Mutiny On The Bounty’ was one of my all time favorite movies,” Trump tweeted. “A good old fashioned mutiny every now and then is an exciting and invigorating thing to watch, especially when the mutineers need so much from the Captain. Too easy!”

Trump has engaged in a war of words with Democratic governors, particularly Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who have questioned Trump’s response and motives during the coronavirus pandemic.
On Monday, Trump said he has “total” authority to tell states when they will reopen for business after they issued widespread orders restricting movement and shutting down nonessential businesses in an effort to stem the spread of the virus.
Cuomo hit back against Trump’s claim that he has complete control over when states reopen and said that the premise violates the Constitution. “The Constitution says we don’t have a king,” the governor said on MSNBC. “That is a king. We didn’t have a king. We didn’t have King George Washington. We have President George Washington.”
Trump tweeted about Cuomo on Tuesday, claiming the governor has been “begging” for federal assistance.
“Cuomo’s been calling daily, even hourly, begging for everything, most of which should have been the state’s responsibility, such as new hospitals, beds, ventilators, etc. I got it all done for him, and everyone else, and now he seems to want Independence! That won’t happen!” Trump said.
