Health care legislation proposed by Republicans to replace Obamacare has received a barrage of criticism from outside conservative groups, as well as a number of prominent members of Republicans’ own caucus, such as Sen. Mike Lee. Many have speculated that the current bill is dead on arrival.
However, the Republican Study Committee is proposing some changes to the way the bill reforms Medicaid that could go a long way toward fixing one of the most objectionable parts of the bill. Via Politico:
The bill still has other issues, however. There’s a heated debate over the way that the bill handles refundable tax credits for purchasing insurance—and that will also have to be hammered out. But these Medicaid changes could go a long way toward attracting more GOP support for the bill.
