North Korea fires two more unidentified projectiles off its east coast, according to South Korean military

North Korea has allegedly fired two more unidentified projectiles off its eastern coast into the Sea of Japan, according to the South Korean military and reported by the Yonhap news agency.

The launch comes just hours after President Trump said he received a “really beautiful letter” from North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Trump would not disclose the contents of the letter, but he said that it was “positive” overall.

“I think we’ll have another meeting,” Trump told reporters outside the White House on Friday. “He really wrote a beautiful three-page — I mean right from top to bottom — a really beautiful letter. And maybe I’ll release the results of the letter, but it was very positive.”

Trump also revealed that Kim was not happy that the U.S. was conducting joint military exercises with South Korea, which the North Korean leader cited as a reason for several ballistic missiles being test-fired in recent weeks.

Reuters reported that the projectiles were fired at dawn on Saturday local-time near the northeastern city of Hamhung, citing South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff. The city is also home to a solid-fuel rocket engine production site.
