Omarosa Manigault, one of the best-known stars of “The Apprentice,” was named director of African-American outreach for Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.
In an interview with MSNBC, Manigault on Monday confirmed her new position saying, “I’m happy to take up that cause for Donald Trump.”
In response to questions about Donald Trump’s extremely poor poll numbers — 0 percent — among African-American voters in Ohio and Pennsylvania, Manigault seemed skeptical.
“I’m just wondering who they called because those numbers would be flawed according to the people who have come out to support at an amazing faith-based service with African-Americans who support Donald Trump.”
According to Manigault, her “reality” is that she is “surrounded by people who want to see Donald Trump as the next president of the United States who are African-Americans.”
“Donald Trump is focused on improving the economic conditions of African-Americans in this country,” she said.
Manigault was on the first season of “The Appentice” and was considered a villain, noted for her acrimonious style. She also was on “Celebrity Apprentice,” the only contestant on “The Apprentice” to be invited back, and was on “Celebrity Apprentice: All Stars.”
