‘Piss-poor’: The View roasts Buttigieg for his town hall

The hosts on ABC’s The View panned 2020 candidate Pete Buttigieg’s town hall, in which he addressed the police shooting in South Bend, Indiana, that led to the death of Eric Logan.

The city’s reaction to the incident was becoming so severe that Buttigieg had to leave the campaign trail to address it.

“I have this feeling that these guys who are running who are mayors and governors should keep doing their jobs,” Joy Behar said, adding that Buttigieg leaving South Bend to run for president “seems like an unfinished job.”

Sunny Hostin said the South Bend mayor has “a problem with the African American community” in his city.

“And I thought he did a really piss-poor job of listening to those people in that town hall and feeling the pain,” Meghan McCain said.

The town hall took place after protesters heckled Buttigieg, with the tense moment all caught on camera.

“You running for president and you expect black people to vote for you?” a protester asked.

Buttigieg replied, “I’m not asking for your vote.”

“You ain’t gonna get it either,” the protester shot back.

Whoopi Goldberg said the “I’m not asking for your vote” line was a bad response.

People also heckled Buttigieg during the town hall, shouting, “We don’t trust you,” according to the New York Times. While Buttigieg has not campaigned the past week, he does plan to participate in the first Democratic primary debate this week.
