Dianne Feinstein: Hillary Clinton’s email silence ‘going to hurt her’

Sen. Dianne Feinstein says Hillary Clinton needs to “come forward” and address her email scandal.

Feinstein said Sunday on Meet The Press that Clinton’s silence over the developing scandal over her exclusive use of personal emails while serving as secretary of state is becoming an issue. Because it is such an important one, Feinstein said, the public needs to hear from Clinton sooner rather than later.

“What I would like is for her to come forward […] The silence is going to hurt her,” Feinstein, the Democratic Senator from California, said, especially since Clinton is the leading candidate — be it Democrat or Republican — for the 2016 presidency.

On Wednesday, Feinstein, who is also vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said she would wait to judge Clinton until more information was released.

“Let’s see when all the facts come in,” Feinstein said. “I have great belief and very strong feelings that are positive for Hillary.”

Feinstein now joins a small group of Democratic lawmakers who have criticized Clinton over the email debacle. Last week, it was revealed Clinton used a personal, not government email, when Secretary of State to conduct official business.
