Missing P.G. murder suspect back in custody A mistakenly released murder suspect in Prince George’s County is back in custody after turning himself in Tuesday in Upper Marlboro. Frederick Lawrence Scott appeared with his attorney at a bond hearing in Circuit Court and was immediately taken into custody, according to the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s office. Scott, 24, was arrested in May and accused of fatally shooting a District man after a fight inside of a Prince George’s County club on March 4. He then gained his release when another defendant’s paperwork was mistakenly placed into his file, setting his bond at $75,000.

Two women die from injuries in fire that killed boy, 6

Two women have died from injuries they suffered in a house fire that also killed a 6-year-old boy over the weekend. Prince George’s County officials said Simone Anne Munroe, 36, and Janet Assing-Macklin, 61, succumbed to burns and smoke inhalation after being pulled from a burning house in the 2400 block of Griffin Street in Lewisdale early Sunday. Munroe died Monday afternoon and Assing-Macklin died later that night or early Tuesday morning, fire department spokesman Mark Brady said. Munroe’s son, 6-year-old Omari Noel, died Sunday. Fire officials said the blaze was caused by an overloaded power strip and ruled it as accidental.

Another Wheaton carjacking

An armed carjacking was reported overnight at a Wheaton-area Burger King, but police say the case appears to be unrelated to three recent kidnappings reported nearby. Montgomery County police said the carjacking happened at the fast food restaurant located at 12265 Veirs Mill Road at about 1 a.m. Tuesday, when a 24-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman reported that two men — one armed with a handgun — demanded their cell phones, wallet and vehicle. The two suspects took off in the victims’ vehicle, a white 2004 four-door Honda Civic.
