Herschel Walker: Student loan plans sound like ‘a Hunter Biden weekend’

Georgia Senate Republican candidate Herschel Walker mocked President Joe Biden’s plan to forgive up to $20,000 of individual college loans, joking that a report students plan to use the savings on vacations, booze, and drugs sounds like a “Hunter Biden weekend.”

Campaigning in Madison, Georgia, Walker cited a Secrets report that students plan to use the money freed up in the forgiveness program for vacations, new cellular phones, booze, drugs, and restaurants.

“I was looking at something that was kind of shocking,” Walker said, referring to the story and opponent Sen. Raphael Warnock’s support for Biden’s loan payoff program.

“Then I read something else, what people were doing with that student loan,” he said to a crowd.

“They were like, ah, they were doing vacations, buying video games, buying booze, drugs, and gambling,” he added.

“I was thinking I was at a Hunter Biden weekend,” he said to laughter in a video posted by communications consultant Gail Gitcho.

The several addictions of the president’s son have been in the news for months.

In the poll, nearly three-quarters of deadbeat students said that they planned to use money freed up in the Biden plan on nonessential items. What’s more, the website Intelligent.com said that “73% do agree using student relief to buy non-essential goods is wrong.”
