Where the big kids can play this weekend

Ben’s Next Door Halloween Bash

Halloween at the Bullpen

Halloween Boo Cruise

Halloween Graveyard Jam

The Hard Rock Cafe in D.C. gets in the spirit with this party, including live music, costume contest and games. Details: hardrock.com

Monster Bash and Monster Jam

This year, HiBall Events doubles the fun at the Clarendon Ballroom. The Monster Jam runs from 4 to 8 p.m., the Bash from 8 p.m. to close. Both events have live entertainment and a costume contest. Details: hiballevents.com

Nightmare on M Street

Lindy Promotions presents yet again its roaming costume party in the west end of D.C. Enjoy drink specials at 15 bars. Tickets increase closer to the event, and are $20 on site. Details: lindypromo.com

Palace of Wonders

This bizarre bar and venue on H Street Northeast is a perfect place for Halloween fun. On Friday, Oct. 30, check out Tilted Torch Spook-o-Rama. Then Saturday, catch the New York City Nightmare on H Street Burlesque Show. Details: palaceofwonders.com

Party DC Fright Night at Front Page

This annual event in Ballston is back yet again with live music and a costume contest. One of the better values out there, $5 early at the door. Details: partydc.com

Vampire Ball at Synetic Theater

Catch a performance of “Dracula,” then stay for the Vampire Ball, complete with a DJ and costume contest. Details: synetictheater.org
