Baltimore man pleads guilty to recruiting station bomb plot

A Baltimore man pleaded guilty Thursday in connection with his attempt to blow up an armed forces recruiting station in Catonsville, officials said. Antonio Martinez, also known as Muhammad Hussain, pleaded guilty to attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland. If the court accepts Martinez’s plea, he will be sentenced to 25 years in prison. His sentencing is scheduled for April 6, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

Leader of PCP conspiracy sentenced to 14 years

The leader of a PCP and cocaine trafficking ring was sentenced Thursday to 14 years in prison, the U.S. Attorney for Maryland announced. Darnell Eugene Duckett, 48, of Temple Hills, is one of seven conspirators who pleaded guilty as the result of a lengthy investigation led by the DEA, along with Prince George’s County and Anne Arundel County police departments. Following the interception of communications of Duckett making arrangements to sell the drugs, police arrested Duckett on March 24, and seized at least 100 grams of PCP. During the 17-month long investigation, law enforcement officials seized about more than two gallons of liquid PCP, 5.6 grams of cocaine, two handguns and a Mercedes-Benz CL500.

District Heights man dies at wrestling academy

An aspiring professional wrestler from Prince George’s County was killed after he stuck his head during practice at a wrestling academy in Severn, according to Anne Arundel County police. Police say Quentin L. Washington, 25, of District Heights, was injured after falling and hitting his head at Gillberg’s Pro Wrestling Academy last Thursday. He died the next day at the Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.

Homicide detectives uncovered no indication of foul play or suspicious circumstances surrounding Jackson’s death, police said.
