Fox News anchor Shannon Bream said she had to “bail” on her live show from the Supreme Court after feeling “threatened” by protesters.
In a pair of tweets Monday evening, about an hour after President Trump announced his nomination of federal appeals court Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the U.S. Supreme Court, Bream alluded to a “volatile” atmosphere on the scene.
“Very few times I’ve felt threatened while out in the field. The mood here tonight is very volatile. Law enforcement appears to be closing down 1st Street in front of SCOTUS,” she said in one tweet, adding later: “Literally had to bail on our live show from #SCOTUS. Moving the show back to the safety of the studio. See y’all at 11p @FoxNews.”

Her Fox News show begins at 11 p.m. At the outset of her show, Bream was back in the studio, but made no mention of the protests. Later in the program, during an interview with Sen. Ben Sasse, R-Neb., who noted they were supposed to talk on the steps of the Supreme Court, Bream said, “It got a little too rowdy out there at the court tonight.”
Even before Trump announced his pick at the White House, protesters began to gather in front of the Supreme Court. Upon picking Kavanaugh, protesters chanted, “Kavanaugh has got to go.”
