Watson shoots 64, leads Senior Players by 4

TIMONIUM, Md. – Tom Watson has taken a four-stroke lead at the Senior Players Championship, shooting a bogey-free 6-under 64 at Baltimore Country Club.

Watson was at 12-under 198 on Saturday, four shots better than Loren Roberts, John Cook and Mark Wiebe.

Watson has had one bogey through three rounds at the BCC Course, where he’s pursuing his sixth major on the Champions Tour.

Jay Haas, the reigning Charles Schwab Cup champ, was at 7 under after a 67.

Roberts, who won the Senior Players in 2007, shot 65 to stay close, but bogeyed the par-4 18th hole. Wiebe had a 66, saving par on No. 18 to keep pace after carding five birdies.

Cook made four his six birdies on the front nine in a 65. He could’ve been alone in second if not for a bogey on No. 18.
