Achievement: Sipes was named hospitality and tourism professional of the year by the Baltimore-based National Academy Foundation. Sipes began her career at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore in 1986 as the executive assistant to the director of sales and marketing.

The award recognizes individuals who are models of excellence and who have made significant contributions to the field of health and mental health.

Occupation: Director of philanthropy, College of Notre Dame of Maryland School of Pharmacy

Achievement: Meekins comes to the College of Notre Dame from the mid-Atlantic affiliate of the American Heart Association, where she was director of gala and individual giving. She has also served as associate director of development and senior development coordinator at The Wilmer Eye Institute at The Johns Hopkins University.

Achievement: Genova was recently hired at the firm’s Columbia headquarters, where he focuses on commercial transactions in Howard and Anne Arundel counties. Genova is the first graduate of the firm’s new training program, which focuses on the nationally acclaimed “Top Dogs” program for the commercial real estate industry.

Name: Dr. Jeffrey Palmer

Occupation: Professor and director of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore

Achievement: Palmer was the recipient of the Fellow of the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine Award of Distinction. He was recognized for his outstanding clinical, research and educational contributions to rehabilitation medicine.
