Body of 18-year-old abducted from Walmart parking lot found in gravesite

The body of a missing 18-year-old in Nevada has been found in a gravesite, police said.

The remains of Naomi Irion, who went missing on March 12 from a Walmart parking lot, were found on Tuesday after police followed a tip that led to a possible gravesite and later confirmed those to be of Irion, the Lyon and Churchill county sheriff’s offices said Wednesday.

“We would like to extend our sympathy and condolences to the Irion family and thank all the volunteers for their hard work in trying to find Naomi and bring closure to the family,” police said in a statement.

On Friday, Troy Driver, 41, was charged with kidnapping in connection to Irion’s disappearance. He appeared at a bond hearing Wednesday afternoon, when Judge Lori Matheus of the Canal Township Justice Court set Driver’s bail at $750,000, according to News4.

Driver abducted Irion and “did hold or detain her for the purpose of committing sexual assault and/or for the purpose of killing her,” prosecutors alleged in court documents.

Surveillance footage of the Walmart parking lot on March 12 caught the last glimpse of Irion before she went missing around 5 a.m. A suspect was also seen in front of her vehicle, according to police. Several days later, her car was recovered nearby.
