Valentine’s Day falls on a Monday this year, so many lovebirds will celebrate this weekend. But if you haven’t already ordered the flowers and made dinner reservations, don’t fret. Here are five fun this to do this weekend while keeping in the Valentine’s Day spirit. All You Need is Love 2 at Jammin’ Java, Sunday
“She Loves You.” “All My Loving.” And yes, “All You Need is Love.” When it comes to songs of the heart, nothing quite matches the output of the Beatles. On Sunday at Jammin’ Java in Vienna, four singer-songwriters pay homage to the Beatles, and Valentine’s Day, with All You Need is Love 2: A Tribute to the Beatles and Love Songs.
“There’s so many different aspects in the emotions involved,” said Anthony Fiacco, who is participating in the event, along with Todd Wright, Luke Brindley and Shane Hines.
Fiacco has a number of Fab Four songs rehearsed and ready to play on Sunday, deciding which to perform depends on his mood. During a recent phone conversation, he kept which songs he’s considering close to his chest, but revealed “I’ll Follow the Sun” may be one of them.
The show is a songwriters circle format, meaning each musician plays a couple of songs, before the whole group performs together on a number of selections. This is the second year of the event.
“It was great,” Fiacco said of the 2010 show. “It was a blast learning all the songs.”
