Fox News host Tucker Carlson discussed his onetime friendship with Hunter Biden while promoting a documentary about alleged corruption surrounding the Biden family.
Carlson, who used to live in the Washington, D.C., area, said he would get dinner with the embattled son of President Joe Biden from time to time while speaking on Fox News’s The Five on Tuesday.

“I knew him really well, and I always liked him. I mean, he was my neighbor and friend and had dinner with him a bunch. We talked a lot about drinking. I don’t drink. He was struggling with that. But in the background, I knew, and I knew people who worked with him in his business, that he was effectively selling access to his dad,” Carlson said.
The host of Tucker Carlson Tonight also stated that he did not think of Hunter Biden’s actions as illegal at the time because of the lobbyist culture of Washington.
“I never really thought about it because I lived in D.C. for 35 years, where people sell access to government officials. They’re called lobbyists. And that’s kind of the business of the city,” Carlson said.
He stated that by digging through the first son’s infamous laptop for his Fox Nation documentary Biden Inc., he now understands what Hunter Biden was doing was “criminal.”

The laptop has been controversial not only for its contents but also for the October 2020 New York Post report detailing its contents. The report was reportedly suppressed by social media sites before the 2020 election, with Twitter’s internal communications surrounding the article being released last week as part of a batch of other internal documents.
