Florida clears out prisons in preparation for Hurricane Irma

As Hurricane Irma threatens the state, Florida prisons are facing their largest-ever inmate evacuation, according to a report Thursday.

Over 7,000 inmates in both southern and central Florida will be evacuated by Friday, according to Florida Department of Corrections Secretary Julie Jones.
