The Lincoln Project, a PAC operated by a group that includes George Conway, released an advertisement targeting evangelicals who support President Trump.
The advertisement shows several clips of evangelical leaders praising Trump interwoven with clips of Trump cussing and otherwise behaving crudely. The video ends with the statement: “If this is the best American Christians can do? Then God help us all.”

Several prominent evangelicals appear in the video lauding Trump’s presidency, including Jerry Falwell Jr. and Paula White. The video also included remarks from politicians like former Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, who said, “I have never seen a more biblical president than I have seen in Donald Trump.”
The video also highlighted some of Trump’s more controversial religious takes, including his statement that he does not repent to God and that he was “the chosen one” to take on China.
The Lincoln Project is a PAC managed by anti-Trump conservatives, including George Conway, Steve Schmidt, John Weaver, and Rick Wilson. George Conway, who is married to presidential counselor Kellyanne Conway, tweeted out the video with a verse from the Gospel of Matthew in which Jesus warned, “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.”

This was the second time in recent weeks that evangelicals have taken the flak for supporting the president. Christianity Today published an editorial demanding that Trump be removed from office, sparking a feud between the publication and its founders’ son, Franklin Graham.
