‘This is a story of abuse’: Prince Andrew’s accuser appeals to UK public for support

Virginia Roberts Giuffre pleaded with the people of the United Kingdom to “stand beside” her and demand that Prince Andrew cooperate with United States authorities in her case against him and Jeffrey Epstein.

Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, was accused of participating in Epstein’s alleged sex trafficking ring and has yet to cooperate with U.S. law enforcement as they investigate Epstein. Giuffre urged the British people to demand more of the royal family and said the public “should not accept this as being OK” during an interview on BBC.

“I implore the people of the U.K. to stand up beside me in this fight, to not accept this as being OK. This is not some sordid sex story. This is a story of being trafficked, this is a story of abuse, and this is a story of your guys’ royalty,” Giuffre said.

Giuffre claimed she was ordered to have sex with the Duke of York three times by Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, who has been accused of luring girls into the sex trafficking ring with Epstein. Giuffre was 17 when she first met Andrew at a party. She recalled dancing with him while she was there.

“He is the most hideous dancer I’ve ever seen in my life. His sweat was like it was raining basically everywhere,” she said, gagging.

She said she felt “sick” after being ordered to have sex with Andrew.

In his BBC interview, Andrew denied that he even knew Giuffre, despite a photograph of the two together, and said he would remember her if the two had a sexual relationship.

“And without putting too fine a point on it, if you’re a man, it is a positive act to have sex with somebody,” Andrew said to the BBC. “You have to take some sort of positive action, and so, therefore, if you try to forget, it’s very difficult to try and forget a positive action, and I do not remember anything.”

Andrew has pulled away from the public since the accusations surfaced. The royal family has encouraged this move. Queen Elizabeth II even canceled his 60th birthday party in the wake of his BBC interview.

Epstein was found dead in his jail cell of suicide, according to the New York City medical examiner.
