Republican Sen. Rand Paul took another swipe at Dr. Anthony Fauci on Twitter, quipping he was looking forward to reading his new book because of his fondness for “science fiction.”
“Oh, I don’t know. I think they should publish it,” the Republican senator tweeted Thursday, sharing a report on major retailers removing the book from their sites.
“I love science fiction,” Paul quipped.

Paul, a frequent critic of Fauci, has been increasingly critical of him since BuzzFeed News and the Washington Post published thousands of pages of Fauci’s personal emails.
“Told you,” Paul tweeted Wednesday, with the hashtag #FireFauci.
“Can’t wait to see the media try to spin the Fauci FOIA emails,” he added in a second tweet.

In another tweet, Paul quoted an article that called Fauci “a fraud. A massive fraud.”
“The newly released trove of emails to and from Dr. Fauci makes that abundantly clear,” the quote continued.

During an interview on Fox News, Paul echoed his call for Fauci to be fired and investigated, saying the emails “paint a disturbing picture” of Fauci and his work behind the scenes.

Paul later told Fox & Friends the new emails show Fauci was aware the coronavirus could have originated in Wuhan through gain-of-function research and said he misled the public.
“He admits in private what he won’t say in public,” Paul added.
