MOLINE, Ill. (AP) — Gov. Pat Quinn has signed legislation clearing the way for direct flights from the Quad Cities to Washington, D.C.
The Chicago Democrat says getting those daily flights has been a priority for several years. One of the region’s largest employers is the U.S. Army’s Rock Island Arsenal, which manufactures government-owned weapons. Quinn says the move will help establish businesses and create jobs.
