‘Baby Shark’ toy shields toddler from stray bullet

A three-year-old girl was saved by a “Baby Shark” toy she was clutching in her sleep, which shielded her from stray gunfire that tore through her Madison, Wisconsin home Sunday.

The shootout involved “two sides shooting at one another,” according to the police report. Forty-five shell casings littered the area around the toddler’s home, police said, and her shark toy took the bullet that entered her bedroom at around 8:42 p.m., which otherwise would have hurt her.

There were no injuries reported, the police report maintained.

The “Baby Shark” song has recently become popular as a theme for the Washington Nationals, who won the World Series last month and later visited the White House.
