What s that mean, Mr. Dingell?

Rep. John Dingell, D-Mich., may not have gone R-rated in front of a bunch of kids in the Capitol on Thursday, but he certainly went PG-13.

At a media-ready event promoting the Democrats’ children’s health insurance legislation, Dingell joined House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Reps. Pete Stark and Allison Schwartz, as kids sang folk songs.

When it was Dingell’s turn to speak, the dean of the House noted that the bill would insure 12 million more kids and pointed out that President Bush “used to befor this.”

“But let me tell you something about him,” Dingell continued. “I knew him before he was a virgin.”

At least the kids probably didn’t know what he meant, because we didn’t, either.
