Dating always comes with difficulty, but it can be especially tough when you’re dating a liberal, according to attendees at the 2022 Conservative Political Action Conference in Orlando, Florida.
When asked if they would date a liberal, many CPAC attendees responded with a resounding “no.”
“Absolutely not,” multiple people answered for the sole reason that they could not see themselves being able to build a family with a “leftst.”

It all comes down to conflicting core, family, and religious values, the attendees said.
“Dating is for marriage, and, so, who I want to be married to one day, I think it’s really important we share those political values because that really affects the way we raise our kids and create the culture for our family,” one young woman said.
Constant fighting and arguing is another factor that keeps one attendee away from dating someone on the Left.
“Even when the topic is not about politics, somehow, it will end up about politics,” he said. “We’re talking about spaghetti, and somehow it ends up about how much they hate Trump.”
Other conference-goers seemed open to the idea of having their partner be a liberal.
“At the end of the day, if a person has been confused about their political ideology, and most importantly, becoming a liberal, it’s probably because of some things that happened in their past,” one attendee said. “I wouldn’t hold it against them immediately, but I would share the light and spread the truth.”
Still, there are lines that those interviewees would not cross when it comes to dating a person with an opposing political ideology.
“If she’s got blue hair, and she’s got, you know, face tattoos, I’m not down with that,” said one man open to dating a more moderate liberal.
