WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) — Gov. Bob McDonnell will host his colleagues from across the nation this weekend as they come to Williamsburg for their annual summer meeting.
Virginia’s colonial capital is playing host to the National Governors Association Friday through Sunday.
Both Republican and Democratic heads of state will have one overriding issue on their minds — what to do about runaway Medicaid costs under President Barack Obama’s health care reforms, and whether to create health insurance exchanges or let the feds handle it.
While several governors have said they will opt out of the Medicaid expansion, McDonnell and some others have said they need more information from the federal government before making a decision.
