Ivanka communicated with Russian Olympian to facilitate Trump, Putin meeting for Trump Tower in Moscow

President Trump’s eldest daughter and adviser, Ivanka Trump, connected Trump’s personal lawyer Michael Cohen during the 2016 campaign with a Russian athlete who offered to introduce Trump to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The meeting would have been about speeding up the process to build a 100-story Trump Tower in Moscow, according to emails reviewed by BuzzFeed.

Although there is nothing to suggest that Ivanka’s contact with Russian Olympic weightlifter Dmitry Klokov was illegal or that it was in any way connected to the presidential election, congressional investigators and special counsel Robert Mueller’s team have reviewed the emails and questioned witnesses about the interaction, sources with knowledge of the matter told BuzzFeed.

It is unclear whether Klokov could have even set up the introduction of Trump to Putin.

Ivanka connected Cohen with Klokov regarding a deal that could have made Trump’s family business millions, even as Trump continued to campaign for president.

In one email, Klokov told Cohen that he could arrange the meeting between Trump and Putin to help facilitate discussions for a tower in Moscow, however, Cohen refused the offer, claiming the Trump Organization already had an agreement in place.
