They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and if that logic holds Utah Sen. Mike Lee is right on the money when it comes to his conclusion that the United States is really a “nation of regulations.”
The freshman Republican posted on Facebook last week a picture of a display case he made filled with a printed-out copy of the 2013 Federal Register – filled with 80,000 pages of new rules, regulations and notices all written and passed by unelected American bureaucrats.

Adding insult to injury, Lee placed a small stack of papers on top of the display case of the laws actually passed by Congress and signed into law by President Barack Obama in 2013. Congress passed a historically low number of new laws last year.
