Investigators involved in congressional Trump-Russia investigation efforts want access to Donald Trump Jr.’s phone records related to the June 2016 meeting he had with a Russian lawyer.
There is “high interest” in obtaining Trump Jr.’s phone records, according to a CBS report.
Trump Jr., along with White House senior adviser Jared Kushner and former campaign manager Paul Manafort, met with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya at Trump Tower in June of last year hoping to obtain information that could hurt Hillary Clinton’s campaign.
Congressional investigators are also hoping to see the emails of those who attended the meeting, according to the report.
Earlier this week, it was reported that President Trump may have had a hand in crafting his son’s misleading statements about the meeting with the Russians.
Kushner testified privately before the Senate Intelligence Committee in July.
