Rep. Ken Buck will remain president of the GOP freshman class despite a move by a leadership-endorsed member to oust him.
Buck, of Colorado, said he believed Republican leaders were instigating a move to strip him of his class president title in retribution for his vote against a critical measure to advance a trade bill this month.

Rep. Mimi Walters, R-Calif., the freshman representative to the GOP leadership, called the meeting to evaluate whether Buck should remain president.
But at a Thursday morning meeting, the gathering of freshmen Republicans ended after half an hour without even taking a vote on Buck’s position.
“They just decided he would remain president,” Buck spokeswoman Catherine Rosario told the Washington Examiner. “There was no vote.”
