Whatever you think of Elizabeth Warren’s technology regulation plan (and I think it is idiotic in moral and economic terms), at least she doesn’t share Kamala Harris’ absolute focus on purging President Trump from Twitter.
In a rather stunning couple of minutes at the Democratic presidential primary debate in Ohio on Tuesday, Harris upheld her plan to see Trump removed from Twitter as some kind of mantle of true leadership; as if the fate of the country will rise or fall on whether Trump can fire off his usually inane messages.

It’s a simple point but one that obviously bears observing: Any candidate who thinks this is a serious issue with which to use their limited speaking time on a debate stage is not serious candidate. The country has too many issues of utmost importance facing it. More than that, however, Harris is obviously aware that the complex issues of content creation and online distribution reach many billions of times further than one Twitter account.
The next president, whether Trump or someone else, will have many challenges to face.
@realDonaldTrump isn’t one of them.
