Former President Donald Trump teased a potential third bid for the White House during his remarks to the Conservative Political Action Conference on Sunday.
Trump blasted the changes President Biden has made in the first months of his administration, saying these policies “should be reason enough for Democrats to suffer withering losses in the [2022] midterm elections and to lose the White House decisively four years from now.”
After the crowd broke out into chants of “Four more years!” Trump claimed Biden did not legitimately win the 2020 contest and teased a potential 2024 candidacy.
“Actually, as you know, they just lost the White House, but it’s one of those things,” he said. “But who knows? Who knows? I may even decide to beat them for a third time, OK?”
Later in his remarks, after Trump vowed, “A Republican president will make a triumphant return to the White House,” he teasingly asked which candidate is best positioned to win the 2024 election.
“I wonder who that will be,” he said to cheers. “Who, who, who will that be? I wonder.”
Trump and his surrogates have frequently floated the possibility of the 45th president running for a second term in 2024. Should he enter, he would shake up the race for the array of potential 2024 contenders who may enter the crowded field.
