RNC chairwoman: Barrett was interrupted 78 times during hearing, and media didn’t call it ‘mansplaining’

Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel slammed the media for “selective outrage” after Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett was interrupted by male Democratic senators several times during her confirmation hearing.

“Democrats interrupted Judge Barrett 78 TIMES,” McDaniel tweeted. “Zero cries of sexism or ‘mansplaining’ from the media. Their bias and selective outrage is unreal! #ConfirmACB.

McDaniel’s tweet was possibly a reference to the many liberals and reporters on Twitter who criticized Vice President Mike Pence for what was referred to as “mansplaining” when he interrupted Sen. Kamala Harris during their debate last week.

“Predictably, Democrats are claiming Kamala Harris was a victim of sexist ‘mansplaining’ by Mike Pence at last night’s debate,” radio host Jason Rantz tweeted following the debate. “That’s absurd. Here’s my analysis with Neil Cavuto.”

Barrett moved through the confirmation hearing process this week, and a party line vote moved her nomination to a full Senate vote scheduled for Oct 22.

It is widely believed that Republicans have the votes to confirm Barrett and that she will be confirmed before the Nov. 3 election to the chagrin of Democrats, who have argued for delaying the vote until the next president is chosen.
