Ciena Corp., a Linthicum-based communications maker, on Thursday reported third-quarter income of $11.7 million, down from $28.3 million in the same period last year.
Revenue for the third quarter totaled $253.2 million, up 24 percent from revenue of $205 million in last year’s third quarter.
Ciena’s customers include AT&T Inc. and Sprint Nextel Corp.
Ciena’s stock price ended Thursday trading at $13.09 per share, down 24.9 percent for the day.
