North Carolina Republican Sen. Thom Tillis said he cut his hand on sheet metal this weekend and had to get five stitches, but that wasn’t as “painful” as Monday’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Judge Neil Gorsuch.
“Last night, I cut my hand on a piece of sheet metal ask had to get five stitches,” Tillis said at a press conference, lamenting the actions of Democrats to attempt a filibuster of Gorsuch’s nomination to the Supreme Court.
“Now that ranks as the second most painful thing I have experienced this week,” he said. “What we saw in the committee hearing today, to me, really is an amazing theater that we have created here to create can this pretext for a partisan filibuster. It’s not going to be successful.”
