Fox Nation personalities Diamond and Silk appeared on Capitol Hill Wednesday to tout a new bill targeting sanctuary cities and sanctuary states. They also talked up its sponsor, Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa. House Republican leaders this year stripped the Republican lawmaker of his committee assignments over a series of comments he made in an interview with the New York Times that seemingly promoted white nationalism.
King says the article quoted him out of context.
On Wednesday he sought to promote the End Sanctuaries and Help Our American Homeless and Veterans Act, which would redirect federal funds from sanctuary cities and sanctuary states to programs helping homeless Americans and America’s veterans.
The congressman also declined to comment on reports he was not invited on Air Force One for President Trump’s trip to Iowa on Tuesday, despite asking the White House for a seat on the presidential aircraft.
“That’s not on topic. Didn’t you hear me? Any other questions?” he said.
