Trump tweets Wilbur Ross to meet with EU over eliminating unfair tariffs against US

Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross will meet with the European Union about tariffs it uses against the U.S., President Trump announced on Monday over Twitter.

Trump said the tariffs and barriers the EU uses against exports from the U.S. is unfair to American farmers and manufacturers.

“Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross will be speaking with representatives of the European Union about eliminating the large Tariffs and Barriers they use against the U.S.A.,” Trump posted to Twitter. “Not fair to our farmers and manufacturers.”

Several world leaders say they are concerned over the new tariffs Trump imposed on steel and aluminum imports to the U.S.

Last week Trump signed a proclamation that placed a 25 percent tariff on steel imports and 10 percent on aluminum imports, which he touts as a measure that will help U.S. farmers and manufacturers.
