Sheriff’s deputies in Limestone County, Ala., recovered an ‘attack squirrel’ while conducting a bust at an apartment that also yielded ammunition, methamphetamine, body armor, and other drug paraphernalia. One man was arrested on drug charges at the scene, but police are still looking for the squirrel’s owner, 35-year-old Mickey Paulk.
A spokesman for the sheriff said, “Prior to the search warrant, investigators were informed that Mickey Paulk kept an ‘attack squirrel’ inside his apartment, and that Paulk fed the squirrel meth to keep it aggressive.”
A press release from the sheriff’s office stated, “There was no safe way to test the squirrel for meth.” Under advisement of local conservation officials, the squirrel was released into a nearby wooded area.
