Canadian channel calls Trump ‘all-purpose middle finger’

Canadian news network CTV said that GOP nominee Donald Trump “serves as an all-purpose middle finger raised against whatever his followers dislike” on a newscast Thursday.

The short segment brought news that Trump had lined up enough delegates to secure the Republican nomination without a contested convention. Everyone in the short bit reacted badly to Trump, including Paul Ryan, Barack Obama, and an expatriate American teacher in Brussels who assured viewers “he really is crazy.”

The broadcast began by saying, “The candidate who began his campaign by descending an escalator, and who descended farther than most could’ve imagined, has now reached the top of his party’s presidential ticket.”

The broadcast also accused Trump of “dividing Americans” and “rattling other countries” by “portray[ing] other nations as trade swindlers and border crashers.”
