A six-pack a day will keep officers in line — at least for one naval base.
The Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida, will restrict the alcohol sales of junior enlisted service members on the base, according to the base’s spokesman.

As of earlier this week, troops who are in the rank of E-3 or lower are limited to purchasing one six-pack a day from the base’s Navy Exchange because of “an increase in alcohol-related incidents involving this demographic of service members,” Jason Bortz told Military.com.
Bortz qualified “alcohol-related incidents” as “conduct that we do not expect our service members to be a part of while on NAS Pensacola,” and he said the commanding officer at the base, Capt. Tim Kinsella, was in agreement with subordinate commanders about the decision.

“Alcohol-related incidents can result in administrative discipline that not only impacts service members, but [also] the training cycles on base,” he added.
