Final Four’s top NBA prospects

This Final Four is loaded with some of the top NBA prospects. So what are the strengths and weaknesses of these future pros? Anthony Davis, Kentucky

Strengths » He will have an instant impact in the NBA on the defensive end. Davis’ length is even problematic to jump shooters. He also can handle the ball, hit perimeter jumpers and rebound outside his zone. There’s a reason he’s a lock to go No. 1 in the NBA Draft.

Weaknesses » He needs to be more assertive offensively. Despite leading the Wildcats in scoring, three players attempted more shots than Davis. The 6-foot-10, 220-pound power forward could also add some weight to his thin frame.

Who he plays like » Kevin Garnett

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Kentucky

Strengths » No prospect has a motor like Kidd-Gilchrist. Working hard and having a passion for the game of basketball is an intrinsic trait. Whether it be attacking the rim, defending or rebounding, effort is never in question for the athletic swingman.

Weaknesses » He’s going to have to improve on his outside shooting. He hit just 26 percent of his 3-pointers this season and has made just one shot beyond the arc in four NCAA tournament games.

Who he plays like » Gerald Wallace

Thomas Robinson, Kansas

Strengths » There was no better rebounder in the country this year. Robinson averaged 11.8 boards a game. At 237 pounds, the junior fills out his 6-foot-9 frame and uses his strength to his advantage. He’s relentless around the rim and a solid defender.

Weaknesses » While Robinson has been able to dominate the boards at the college level, he will be undersized facing most power forwards in the NBA. His shot selection is sometimes questionable and Robinson will need to develop a more consistent outside jumper.

Who he plays like » Josh Smith

Jared Sullinger, Ohio State

Strengths »

The sophomore is crafty in the post. He uses his weight, 280 pounds, to his advantage on the low block in rebounding and carving out space for his array of low-post moves. Sullinger has also developed an outside shot during his sophomore season, hitting 16 of 38 3-pointers.

Weaknesses » The power forward has excelled in college, but his athletic limitations will leave some teams questioning if his abilities will translate to the next level.

Who he plays like » Kevin Love
