Week 15 NFL superlatives

Breaking down the best and worst from Week 15 of the NFL: 5. Best upset: Chiefs » Kyle Orton (299 yards) helped Kansas City pull off a shocker, ending the previously unbeaten Packers’ 19-game winning streak. Green Bay was without leading receiver Greg Jennings and top rusher James Starks, but the Chiefs executed well enough to limit Aaron Rodgers.

4. Best block: Dan Orlovsky » Attempting to avoid his second winless season (once with the Lions), the quarterback delivered a not-so-textbook block to help spring Donald Brown for an 80-yard touchdown run that helped the Colts win their first game of the season.

3. Worst replacement: Caleb Hanie » Since Hanie took over for the injured Jay Cutler, the Bears have transformed from a team with Super Bowl potential to a team that got clobbered by the Seahawks. Hanie turned in yet another horrendous performance (three interceptions, 33.3 passer rating) to fall to 0-4 as a starter.

2. Best MVP performance: Drew Brees » While Rodgers has been deemed the MVP favorite, Brees has been having a record season. He inched one step closer to Dan Marino’s single-season passing record with his 412-yard, five-touchdown performance that helped the Saints beat the Vikings.

1. Best fourth-quarter rally: Lions ?» Matthew Stafford orchestrated two long drives in the game’s final minutes to help Detroit erase a two-touchdown deficit and edge Oakland 28-27 to take a two-game lead in the NFC wild-card race. Stafford was 29-for-52 with 391 yards passing and four touchdowns, while Calvin Johnson had 214 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
